This policy outlines the procedures and responsibilities for verifying the age of customers purchasing controlled items—such as knife sets—sold by Fansee Australia. This ensures compliance with applicable Australian laws governing the sale of age-restricted products.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all orders placed through our online store that include items classified as controlled or age-restricted, including but not limited to kitchen knife sets.
3. Legal Basis
Under Australian law, individuals must be 18 years or older to purchase certain controlled items. Fansee Australia takes reasonable steps to confirm the purchaser’s eligibility at the time of sale and/or delivery.
4. Age Verification Procedure
4.1 Online Verification at Checkout
- Fansee Australia uses the Age Verification app integrated with our online store.
- Customers are required to enter their date of birth before completing checkout.
- The date of birth is:
- Collected securely
- Logged with the specific order
- Visible in the order’s administrative details for auditing purposes
4.2 Supplementary ID Check (When Required)
In certain cases, such as:
- Inconsistencies in the order
- Orders flagged by our fulfillment team
- Delivery to restricted postal regions
Customers may be contacted via email and/or SMS to provide a valid government-issued photo ID showing their date of birth.
4.3 Proof of Identity on Delivery
For added compliance, certain high-risk items or areas may require Australia Post’s Proof of Identity (POI) Delivery service, where:
- A valid ID must be shown upon delivery
- The parcel is not delivered unless the recipient is 18+
- A delivery record is maintained by the courier

All personal data collected during the age verification process is handled in accordance with:

6. Refusal of Service
